Every animal that arrives at our sanctuaries has its own journey. Some were abandoned on the streets of Mallorca; others lost their elderly owners in Germany or were rescued from neglectful conditions. Despite these hardships, rescued dogs and cats carry an extraordinary capacity to love and connect.
When you adopt through the Herbert & Maria Welter Foundation, you are not just getting a pet — you are saving a life and making room in our care stations for the next animal in urgent need.
We pride ourselves on an empathetic, stress-free matching process to ensure a harmonious match for both the animal and your family:
Explore our current charges in the Animal Gallery or fill out our simple inquiry form below. Tell us about your living environment and daily schedule.
Our experienced animal caretakers will conduct a friendly phone or video conversation. We answer all your questions about the animal’s temperament, health history, and personality.
A voluntary pre-adoption visit (or virtual walkthrough) helps ensure the environment is safe (e.g. secure balcony netting for cats, fenced yard or walking paths for dogs). We provide a checklist for food, bedding, and supplies.
Animals travel under official TRACES-certified welfare regulations with complete EU Pet Passports. After arrival, our team remains at your side for advice, training tips, and support for years to come.
